From a good vantage point and the right timing of moonrise it’s possible to photograph the moon over the ocean and then turn around and photograph the su setting over the plain.
I have to put in a word for The Photographer’s Ephemeris app which is an awesome way to both calculate the angle of the sun and moon from any location and plan the best time to be there with a camera.
These images were made between 5 and 6pm from Mata Peak in Hawke’s Bay, New Zealand. Fujifilm X-T1 and X-Pro 1 with XF 56mm and XF 35mm. I was pretty lucky to catch a light aircraft flying over the scene.
