I was lucky enough to get my hands on one of the first full production Fuji XF 16mm F1.4 lenses into New Zealand. Not able to test the weather sealing yet as we are having some awesome autumn weather. Took to the streets of Hastings yesterday with the XF 16mm on my X-T1 to see how it would perform as a street lens.
Pretty damn good. I’m not going to say what you already know about the lens- it’s a Fuji XF after all, so solid built, great handling. Even though I had seen pictures and read reviews about the size of the XF 16mm it still caused a ‘whoa, that’s a big lens’ moment on unboxing. No need to worry, perfectly balanced on the X-T1, even without the vertical battery grip.
That’s as technical as this is going to get, I’ll let the images speak for themselves. Raw files processed in the latest version of Iridient Developer.
